Hi, I'm April Christman.

I’m a therapeutic life coach who walks alongside individuals navigating life’s biggest transitions. I bring 18+ years of clinical experience along with real-life experience of what it takes to rebuild after hard things. If you’re at a crossroads and want something to change, then you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve been in the wilderness myself: drug and alcohol abuse, marriage betrayal, living with an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder for nearly a decade. I don’t just have textbook knowledge. I have a lived understanding of what it means to feel stuck and find your way forward.

I'm Not Here to Fix You I'm Here to Walk With You

I realized my life purpose while walking the deserts of Utah as a client in an intense wilderness intervention program.

For ten years before that, I struggled with drugs and alcohol. I made destructive choices. I numbed out instead of facing what I was feeling. I damaged relationships. I felt worthless.

That wilderness program changed the entire course of my life. I discovered that my gift is being a catalyst for change, walking alongside others as they move through their own journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

Within two weeks of being out there in the freezing cold winter with just a tarp and paracord to build shelter, learning to bust fire just to eat something hot, I knew this is what I’m meant to do.

This is my calling. Helping people through their challenges. Coming alongside them in the hard stuff.

  • Understanding the exhaustion and brain fog of chronic health issues and how to keep moving forward.
  • Experience with betrayal and how to rebuild trust in yourself when it’s been shattered.
  • Knowledge of how to rebuild trust in your spouse after betrayal, if you choose to stay in the marriage.
  • Knowledge of how to make amends and repair relationships damaged by your own choices.
  • Guidance on forgiveness as a choice you can work toward, even when it feels impossible.
  • Proof that you can work through hard things and come out stronger on the other side.
  • A guide who’s walked the path from stuck to thriving and knows the way forward.
  • Knowing the process of transforming negative self-talk and rebuilding a foundation of confidence, self-esteem, and deep self-worth.

What It Feels Like on The Inside

On the outside, you’re managing. On the inside, it’s a different story. Your mind won’t shut off, and everything feels like too much. You’re managing logistics with your partner, but the connection is gone. You’ve worked on yourself for years. You’ve read the books. You’ve tried therapy before. But something’s still blocking you from moving forward.

You hear a voice in your head telling you you’re failing. That you’re not good enough. That everyone else has it figured out and you’re falling behind.

You’re tired of feeling like you’re the problem.

You know there’s a stronger, more peaceful version of yourself inside, but you can’t seem to access that person. You feel trapped in your own story, and you don’t know how to rewrite it.

Why Individuals Seek Help From A Therapeutic Life Coach

The Weight of Carrying This Alone

When nothing in life changes, and the exhaustion just deepens. Your health continues to decline. You miss precious moments with your kids or loved ones, because you’re too drained to be present.

Your relationships suffer because you can’t communicate what you need without feeling like a burden. The fog gets thicker. The weight gets heavier.

You wake up one day and realize months or years have passed, and you’re still in the same place. Still stuck. Still overwhelmed. Still asking the same questions with no answers.

The cost of staying here is your joy, your health, your energy, and the life you know you’re meant to be living. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Your story isn’t over. And you don’t have to carry this alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Working With a Therapeutic Life Coach

Here’s the thing. A therapeutic life coach combines clinical training with life coaching to help you navigate anxiety, overwhelm, relationship struggles, and life transitions. If you’re searching for a “life coach near me”, you’re probably wondering what makes this approach different from traditional therapy.

What makes therapeutic life coaching unique

A therapeutic life coach brings both clinical expertise and real-life understanding. April Christman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who transitioned from traditional therapy to therapeutic life coaching to offer something more personal and flexible.

Key differences:

  • No insurance limitations or state licensing restrictions
  • No DSM diagnosis required to work together
  • Focus on your whole life story, not just symptoms
  • Virtual sessions available nationwide
  • Real relationship and collaboration, not clinical distance

How a therapeutic life coach helps

Immediate support:

  • Navigate major life transitions and crossroads decisions
  • Process anxiety and overwhelm affecting daily life
  • Rebuild after loss, betrayal, or relationship endings
  • Communicate needs without feeling like a burden

If you’re standing at a crossroads feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure of your next step, a therapeutic life coach in can help you navigate what you’re facing.

Common life transitions and crossroads

Relationship transitions:

  • Getting remarried after a divorce and fearing it won’t work again
  • Deciding whether to stay in your marriage or leave
  • Rebuilding after betrayal, infidelity, or broken trust
  • Learning to trust again after being hurt deeply
  • Navigating widowhood and identity without your partner

Life stage transitions:

  • Empty nest when kids leave for college
  • Young adulthood uncertainty about future direction
  • Career changes or professional identity shifts
  • Major loss or grief affecting who you are
  • Geographic moves disrupting established support systems

Emotional and mental health struggles

Anxiety and overwhelm:

  • Mind racing constantly, can’t shut off thoughts
  • Everything feels like too much, even on normal days
  • Anxiety showing up even when life looks “fine” from the outside
  • Managing logistics but missing real connection and joy

Feeling stuck and disconnected:

  • Going through motions but not really living
  • Disconnected from yourself, others, or your faith
  • Old hurts are still replaying and triggering strong reactions
  • Patterns you can’t break despite your best efforts
  • Critical voice telling you you’re not good enough

Building life skills and confidence

Communication and boundaries:

  • Expressing needs without feeling like a burden
  • Setting boundaries that people actually respect
  • Navigating difficult conversations without shutting down
  • Rebuilding a connection with a spouse or important people

Self-trust and decision-making:

  • Second-guessing every choice you make
  • Feeling paralyzed by fear of choosing wrong
  • Rebuilding confidence after major mistakes or regrets
  • Learning to trust your intuition again

A therapeutic life coach addresses these issues through EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, communication skills, and life story exploration. The goal isn’t just managing symptoms, it’s understanding what’s keeping you stuck so you can write your next chapter with clarity and purpose.

Inner healing and emotional regulation

  • Turning off negative inner self-talk and quieting self-criticism
  • Calming and regulating your nervous system when anxiety spikes
  • Learning grounding techniques to stay present during overwhelm
  • Regaining hope in yourself and your capacity to heal
  • Strengthening your faith and ability to discern God’s guidance

Pricing for therapeutic life coaching varies based on session length, frequency, and the coach’s experience and credentials. When you’re looking for a life coach, investment is an important consideration.

What affects life coaching costs

Professional credentials and experience:

A therapeutic life coach with clinical training, like April Christman, who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 18 years of experience, typically has different pricing than coaches without mental health credentials.

Session structure:

  • $240 for Individual session rates
  • Package of 5 sessions for $1049,
  • Frequency of sessions (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
  • Session length (typically 50–60 minutes)

Investment versus insurance-based therapy

Key cost differences:

Unlike traditional therapy, therapeutic life coaching doesn’t go through insurance. This means no copays, deductibles, or claim denials, but it also means you pay the full session fee directly.

Why some choose to invest:

  • No insurance limitations on the number of sessions
  • No diagnosis required in your medical record
  • More flexibility in approach and session structure
  • Ability to work with the specific coach you choose, not just who’s in-network
  • Less clinical and more personal approach with access to life coach in between sessions

Getting specific pricing information

For specific rates, package options, and payment plans for working with April as your online life coach, please contact her directly. She can discuss:

  • Current session rates
  • Package pricing, if available
  • Payment methods accepted
  • Any sliding scale or reduced-fee options

Many individuals find that investing in therapeutic life coaching provides better long-term value than years of insurance-based therapy that keeps them stuck in the same patterns. The combination of clinical expertise, lived experience, and practical tools creates transformation, not just symptom management.

Your first session with a therapeutic life coach is about connection, understanding, and seeing if you’re a good fit to work together. There’s no pressure, just honest conversation about what’s going on and how coaching might help.

How the first session works

The free consultation:

Before committing to ongoing work, April offers a free consultation. This gives you a chance to talk about what’s happening in your life, what you’re hoping for, and whether her approach feels right for you.

What you’ll discuss:

  • What brought you to look for a life coach right now
  • The struggles, transitions, or crossroads you’re facing
  • What you’ve already tried and whether it helped
  • What you’re hoping will change through coaching
  • How April’s approach might address your specific situation

What to expect from April

Genuine presence:

You won’t get clinical distance or jargon. April brings the kind of presence that comes from knowing what it feels like to wonder if you’ll ever feel whole again. She’s walked through drugs and alcohol abuse, marriage betrayal, and chronic illness. She gets it.

Clear next steps:

By the end of the consultation, you’ll know:

  • Whether therapeutic life coaching feels like the right fit
  • What working together would look like (frequency, approach, tools)
  • Practical next steps if you decide to move forward

After the first session

If you decide to work together:

You’ll schedule regular sessions (typically weekly or bi-weekly to start). Early sessions focus on:

  • Exploring your life story and identifying patterns
  • Learning immediate tools for managing overwhelm or anxiety
  • Building the relationship and trust needed for deeper work
  • Setting realistic, achievable goals for where you want to go

If it’s not the right fit:

That’s okay too. April can sometimes point you toward other resources or approaches that might serve you better. The goal is finding what actually helps, not convincing you to work together if it doesn’t feel right.

The first conversation is about understanding your story and exploring if this is the support you’ve been looking for.
